(Green Headed Ant) Rhytidoponera Metallica (First Generation)

A very common ant found almost everywhere in Australia(excluding Tasmania) the green ant has had an impact on most of our childhoods. These ants are so beautiful, and just as painful.

These ants are fairly easy to keep, whilst they are semi-claustral their small size means they can be founded in a basic tube setup for semi-claustral ants, however, they are also very bad climbers and are very easy to contain. they are also one of few ant species called gamergates, which means that workers can be capable of reproduction in the event of the queen’s death.
