Myrmecia Sp. “Ammon”(First generation)

$600.00

Introducing Myrmecia ammon – a striking yet elusive bull-ant species exhibiting Müllerian mimicry of Polyrhachis ammon. This small myrmecia is cloaked in deep black, its body adorned with fine golden hairs that shimmer in the light. Despite its imposing appearance, it is notably shy, often retreating from disturbances. However, when in motion, it moves with surprising speed, navigating its environment with precision.

These ants are only for the most experienced keepers as they are incredibly fast and have a powerful sting that can last for days.

during the founding stages, keepers have more success with these ants when kept in tubs and tubes setup with weekly protein and honey offerings. These ants are semi-claustral and can have a very long gestation period with the founding stage being particularly difficult.
